My speech at Faneuil Hall for the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party

234 years ago an irate band of rebels protested the tyranny of a distant government by dumping tons of tea in Boston Harbor. Today an equally irate group of concerned citizens protested the increasingly tyrannical Federal Government by marching on Faneuil Hall to reignite brushfires of freedom in the minds of men. Among the speakers was Rand Paul, Dr Paul's son.

It was the highlight of my short citizenship that I had the chance to speak at Faneuil Hall, the birthplace of our Constitution, on a stage where Washington once presided over its drafting.

On the same day, citizens across our vast Republic came together to make the largest single-day political donation in American history, donating over 6 million dollars in 24 hours to Ron Paul's campaign.

Today the principles on which our Republic was founded are lost; but, clearly, they are not forgotten.

Donating their allowance to the glorious cause of freedom

One of the most humbling experiences I've had since arriving in New Hampshire occurred a few days ago when I learnt that two young citizens asked their mother to drive them to my house to donate their allowance to Operation Live Free or Die. When I see that children this young care about their freedom so much that they would forgo the typical things that children desire, I know that there is still a lot of hope for our Republic.

I was not home to accept the donation, so Trevor Lyman, the man behind November 5th and the Ron Paul Blimp accepted it in my stead.

In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. We should not shrink from this responsibility, we should welcome it.

New Year's Resolution for 2008

This is a big petition we're organizing for the New Year:

Obey The Constitution

Please spread the word. We'd like everyone to print the petition, sign it, and mail it to Congress. We'd also like to ask that each of you try to get five other people to sign the petition. It isn't associated with any candidate, and I think it's something almost all Americans should be happy to get behind.

Imagine the surprise of Congress when we deliver thousands of pounds of mail on the steps of Congress.

We're going to invite any Congressman with a record of defending the Constitution to accept the petition and put it on the Congressional record. I can only think of one man who qualifies for this role...
